About Me

I am Bobbie, lampwork glass artist and jewellery designer. I live in Pukekohe, Auckland with my wonderful and patient husband, and am mother to three lovely children, two dogs, a cat and a whole heap of fish - yes my pets are my children and they think they are human too! I have always had a creative outlet of some sort - dabbling with jewellery making of various forms since my school days, as well as fiber and paper arts and crafts. I began exploring jewellery making further, and by chance I found the Born to Bead Studio and its curator Lisa-Jane Harvey. Lisa-Jane taught me the invaluable basics to lampworking, and I have since developed these skills through countless hours of practice. There is magic captured in each bead I create, and I love the curiosity that glass beads offer those who peruse them. I now have a studio in my home where I can create lampwork glass beads, and jewellery pieces with attention to detail and superp craftsmanship. My website features my lampwork bead & jewellery collection. I also have an "Everyday Beautiful" range of jewellery that can be purchased from felt.co.nz. Jewellery making is not my full-time job, I am also a registered nurse, and recently finished post graduate study at university; in fact I have spent most of my adult life studying. So life is busy, but I always find a little time to sit and create.
